New Gobbler Update

Saw that there's a new Gobbler update - I haven't tried it in a couple of days so maybe it's not that new.

When I went to use Gobbler got the update notice.
There was a change list that showed at the beginning of the installation, I didn't capture it. I thought that I'd be able to find it somewhere after the upgrade but can't find a trace of it.  Sorry...

I've been having problems with Gobbler crashing on me and have yet to have completed an upload. Thought I'd take another wack at it tonight and let it run after I went to bed. I never reported it because I've just had too many things going on at the moment, it was on my list to sus out later.

Still had the problem with the Throttle setting (under Preferences).
* Was using Balanced and it ground my poor old dual core to halt before Gobbler crashed.
So I changed the Throttle from Balanced to Minimum.
While Balanced didn't show much of a CPU hit, the disk usage was too intense.
Minimum is much lighter on the disk usage (or I wouldn't be able to create this post) but the Gobbler is hitting close to 50% CPU of usage.
But it seems to be working faster and smoother with the lower throttle setting.

Anyway I'll see how this attempt fairs...

...Steven

    Bugfixes/Improvements

    • Improved efficiency when syncing project data with the cloud.
    • Uploads now work better when there are intermittent network disconnects.
    • Fixed catalog listing issues for very large accounts, with more than 60,000 projects.
    • Fixed a bug where Gobbler collected linked video files external to the project folder.
    • Fixed a bug where Windows would display a "No Disk" error when scanning certain drives, due to a bug in a hardware driver.
    • Fixed a bug where sending folders silently failed, if a project had previously been sent with "Collect" options disabled.
    • Fixed a bug where "Collect" options were not remembered if Gobbler was restarted with an ongoing transfer.
    • Fixed a bug where video files were not being backed up, if they were within the project folder.

Still having problems.  Gobbler keeps shutting down before the upload completes.

Don't have problems with DropBox or SugarSync (both of which I disabled before the last attempt).
Maybe it has problems on dualcore systems.

I'll sent their tech support an email tonight when I have more time.

I'm still seeing the 'No Disk' error on start-up.
My uploads rarely start and when they do, they fail constantly!
Its been a couple years now and I haven't truly gotten anything out of Gobbler; I'm losing patience and interest in it.

Geez - you're infinitely patient if it's taken you this long. My patience with Gobbler wore out shortly after the p*(@#s released a Mac only version and then said that they'd eventually get back to Windows - I consider that particular bridge well and duly burned. They clearly bit off more than they could chew trying to support both platforms - I figure I'll help them out by not jumping back in now that it sounds like they are getting around to (half-heartedly) supporting Windows again.
