New Install - Ezdrummer Doesn't Work - Help

I just got a new machine running windows 7 pro.

So I intalled X1 (64 bit) and ezdrummer.

I open a new project; do Insert, Soft Synth, vstplugins, ezdrummer.  Go and open up the ezdrummer interface, open grooves and select a groove.  It plays, but no sound......  Also when I go and drag a groove over to the track, I get the following message; "Cannot find or open file"

I tried reinstalling ezdrummer, but still get the same thing.

When I open a project from my old machine with ezdrummer tracks, it shows the drums playing but no sound.  Allof the other tracks can be heard, it's just the ezdrummer stuff.   If I try and add a new groove to the project I get the cannot find or open file message.

There is no problem inserting any of the other soft synths and recording or dragging over a groove to the track.

Has anybody seen this before and know how to fix it?

Joe

have you downloaded and installed the update?  EZD won't work on 64bit X1 without the update installed.

I wish I had a dollar fro every time that questions been asked. Beagle is correct, you need to run the update and install the 64 bit version.

The very latest EZDrummer also removes the need to be running as administrator to drag and drop.

Ok - now I'm running ezdrummer ver 1.3.0  and can drag the groves over to the track.

But I still can't hear the drums!

    I'm running sonar x1 producer (X1b build 242)

    Any advice?

Are you using a "simple instrument track" or a combo "midi & audio" track.  Make sure your track (tracks) get set correctly as to midi and audio I/O.

    Thanks for the input yorolpal.

Found the problem - needed to find where the x64 ezdrummer dll was and make sure it was one of the vst scan folders......

You have to make sure that the 64-bit EZD DLL file is located in the VST scan path. That will introduce the 64-bit version of EZD to SONAR.

The plugin manager will help you set that up.
