New Laptop

I currently am running S5P through an HP desk, but am needing to upgrade and am wanting to purchase a laptop w/ upgrade to S8P. I need to be able to mix more than 24 tracks w/various typs of VSTs. All of my recording is done on outboard gear and then transferrred to the computer by firewire for editing and mixdown.

Any suggestions as to a good laptop that won't break the bank and also the best audio interface to get audio out to my monitors and for final mixdown?

MY other gear:
Alesis HD-24 w/24/94 option
Alesis fireport for audio transfer
Alesis Masterlink
Rhode NT-1 mic
AKG C1000s mic (2)
AKg 414 (stereo pair on the way)
ART DPS II dual tube mic PREs
Lexicon multi-effects
TC Electronics M-350
Yamaha motif rack
Yamaha dig piano/controller
M-audio Radium 61
Alesis M1 monitors
Yamaha 32/14 mixing desk
JAckson sl-2
Spector bass
and a couple tube amps

There's nothing difficult about it. All you have to do is push the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself. --J.S. Bach

IMO, you should talk to ADK Pro Audio. You'll be lucky to make anything else work like you might hope for.
