New Mostly Autumn - Sight of Day

For pre-order, they say.

Greetings everybody
Hope all is well.
It seems so long ago since the release of Dressed in Voices and a new album is long overdue, so we’re so happy to announce : -
Sight of Day – the new album from Mostly Autumn
As usual we are asking for your help to fund this project so we are offering a pre-order limited edition double album, the second disc of which will be songs only available on this edition and limited to 2000 copies.
The limited edition will be shipping as soon as humanly possible -  latest January 2017 – we’ll keep you informed of progress,  with the general release single album planned for late February (TBC).

It seems to be the norm these days to be preordering or crowd funding as many (most) of the bands I am buying are independents working without the support, or shackles, of a record company.

    Hi,

    I don't blame them.

I remember in 1995 or there about, when Marillion could not afford to go into the studio to do their next album, and they pulled ideas from their website, and the fans, essentially paid for it, and then they got a signed album and a free ticket for a show, and maybe more ... or less.

At the time GONG was having the same issues, and I was telling them to get their website going and stop looking for someone else to distribute their CD's, and music.

Nowadays, you have to do it yourself, if you are going to get anything off it. There is no "record company" any more (so to speak!) and trust me, or Bapu, or anyone else ... if you sell 50K or 100K that those bastards will be knocking your doors down, and making sure you do not get some sleep until they get the distribution deal ... and you can pretty much call your shots at that point better than most folks in the business.

Bands like Dream Theater, also made it off their website ... not that they did not have the ability, either!

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!
