The audio demos are pretty awesome.  For $499, they should be.  :-)

Hmm, wonder if this will be included in K11U?

Cheers,
Eddie

Hmmmmmmmm..... selling thousands at $49.99 or < hundreds at $499.

The media distro can't cost more than $5.

Selling any at $499 will be a challenge.

Not sure why they don't ask me to price it for them? Come on NI, get a grip.

Even at 50% off (can you say Black Friday) the price is still dicey, ya?

$499 does seem very steep.......wasn't this summer's Ultimate upgrade price $399?

They do need to get a grip and start consulting SH1.

I'm pretty sure that's a misplaced decimal point. $49.99 is about right as an introductory price. Then back to $99....as per usual.

If not...who on gawd's green earth is dimwitted enough to pay $499.00 for ANY string (or any other instrument) library today?

There is a crowd...albeit a small crowd of cinematic writers out there who money is no object. I mean , if you just scored a few blockbusters for Sony or Dreamworks...499.00 is nothing. There aren't many of them and those people really don't look on NI as anything spectacular compared to some of the specialty sound sets available for cinematic music which cost much much more. Some of them were probably given free examples to rate and test for their opinions....a few of them might throw some change out there for that set which will be just another tool in the toolbox.
Where many of the strings sets come up short is in realistic attacks...nothing I have tried yet really can duplicate an authentic string attack. I wonder if this set can do it realistically? Many composers are using real instruments to augment a sound to give it a more real feel..

But yeah...I doubt they will move much product at that price to the masses. The people who simply need a small section here and there probably won't bite at 499.00

The price is just to make the next KU look like a spectacular deal. NI prices everything to disinsent individual instrument purchases and push you to one of the bundles.

But all those folks are already heavily invested in Spitfire, ProjectSam, Cinebrassand all the other wonderful packages... To date, NI orchestral stuff has been pretty tacky and maybe this is an attempt to erase that image... Soundiron is way better and the demos sound great but they're getting into a fairly saturated market... for me?  no way...

This might not end up in Komplete at all.

here is my reasoning.  this was produced by Soundiron and links to their page are on the NI product page.  this might be a 3rd party distribution deal like Heavyocity had.

remember Heavyocity Damage and Evolve were not included in Komplete at all for couple of versions.

so have to wait and see if this gets included in Komplete Ultimate or not.  My bet is no it won't be included after thinking about it.

Then again I really don't care much, I have Vienna and other products to fill the need.  No way I would pay $499 just for this product no matter how good, since you can get entire orchestra libraires for that or cheaper.
