Apropos of nothing, here's a video of Neil's true feelings re GMOs, Monsanto and Starbucks. Some pretty cool video editing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UC2DpGaykaI

I love Ol Neil...even when I don't. But I'm continually amused by all the younguns who appear in his video(s) all giddy and gleeful and head bobbin and dancin like they're really rockin while Neil leads em in playin something that sounds like four or five twelve year olds first attempts at playing in their uncles garage.

Spot on! A couple of the younguns you're referring to are 2 of Willie Nelson's boys and the older one's band. Kinda like Miles and Art Blakey, always bringing in the new talent.

I'm no fan of Monsanto, but I don't get the Starbucks connection. Their coffee isn't genetically modified, AFAIK. But then, I drink my coffee black and maybe it's the milk they're whining about. Neil's an embarrassment to cranky old men like me 'n yorolpal, like that old dude driving down the highway at 20 mph with the left blinker stuck on.

Not a very good tune. I think they used the word Starbucks just to give the listener something they recognized in case they've no idea who/what Monsanto is. Nothing I like better than to hear the stinking rich singing about the stinking poor.

And, hey, I like cranky old men, me being one, and all.

Starbucks have a stack of dodgy employment practices, and in the UK have used their financial might to get their **** coffee houses where they want. Not a nice company selling not nice coffee

I heard that a farmer, his wife and two kids were poisoned in a midwest coffee shop. I guess that's " four dead in Ohio."....................

I like Neil Young at times, mostly those times when I want music that is extremely simple and pretty catchy. They are at least one of those here. They do come across a little self-satisfied in their video, like they are actually Saving the Planet or something. That said, he's a legend, has written quite a few memorable and catchy songs, and it's good to see him still kickin' . . . because all too soon now, he'll be headed for . . . the last Roundup. :) -Tom
