Been battling a cold...tried, but couldn't pan it out of the mix:)  This is an older song of mine, and out of season I suppose, but it's simple and lent itself well to this technique.  May be a bit heavy on the verb.  Thanks for listening.

What a classic C & W song.  You really captured the feel of an old fashioned honky-tonk song.  The lyrics make you cry into your beer.  I didn't think the  reverb got in the way at all, it just gave it the right amount of ambience.  Happy new year!

    All the best,

Very laid back C&W and you did a nice job on the instrumentation, vocals and mix. Sounds good. Enjoyed!

it looks like Santa bought Band in a box, right? Nice song! I really like your voice. But I think it would be a good idea to arrange a little more, like to cut out the pedal steel guitar in the verse, same with the piano etc. to build more structure.

By the way, I bought myself Band in a box, too, what a software! Sensational. I am wasting hours just to transfer some of my songs from Country to Electro to Bossa-Nova-whatever and return!

I hope your day gets better. I just caught a cold and it has been a long time since I had one...over due I guess. No fun.

Loved your voice on this one. You could bat right up there with the country greats. Everything was in place and in a good place. If you used Biab it sure gave it a good country flavor. I think a lot of people can relate to those words.

Yes it sounds a bit in a box. I would fix that snare sound and the drums in general seem to be killing it for me. And the tinkling on the piano doesn't seem to fit as well as it could (again to me) It would be better with more live performances IMO. Hope your cold gets better, that really sucks as a singer to try to perform under the weather.

Speedtom, Starise, and Band19:  Thanks for the compliments and the criticisms.  I just let it rip without much editing, and there are some parts that are off.  I've learned how to deal with that now.

When it comes to mixing, I really don't know what the heck I'm doing.  I end up with 'something' after much trial and error.  Did the snare need a duller sound?  A little TS-64 tweaking on top of the PX-64 preset?

Thanks again, and Happy New Year!

I edited the sample tracks, recorded new vocals with harmony, remixed and mastered this song with some T-RackS plugins.  The original was rough, and is gone.  Appreciate your feedback.  Thanks.
