Hey, Daryl,

Thanks very much, buddy, I really appreciate you giving this a listen and your encouraging comments, especially because the quality of your work is always top notch!

I'm hoping to work on the bass tweaks for Mix #2 when I get some time over the next few  nights.  I guess from the general consensus, I'm going to knock out some low end mud on the bass and bump up the "clack" so I can give the bass volume a little push and some added definition.

Thanks again for your input and observations, greatly appreciated, Daryl.  Have a good one!

hey Bobster!  how's it going buddy?

I love this!  great rockin' tune!  I love the drum hits at the end - killer!  guitar is smokin as usual from you!  vox sound great and the mix is spot on, IMO, for your genre!  it's compressed like a brick - but it's supposed to be for this!

great job my friend!

Hey, Jan, how are you, buddy?  It's really great to see you upstairs!

Thanks very much for taking time to check this one out for me, and for your very kind comments!  I really appreciate you giving this a listen, and I'm glad to like it.

Your recent posts of some of your earlier works are really cool and got me thinking of resurrecting and reworking some of the stuff I have on reel to reel tape, so thanks also for the incentive!

Have a great night, Jan!

Hey, Reece,

How's it going out  in the wild, wild West?  Hope you're getting ready for the upcoming Thanksgiving week! (stocking up on lot's of turkey becan?)

Thanks very much for taking time to give this a listen, and for your highly encouraging comments!  Yep, LOL thanks for the kind word on the drums, I'm always gun shy on the drums because I consider them my weak spot, but on this, I decided to go for a tiny little "Keith Moon" moment on the break before the solo and then at the very end, so I'm really glad that you noticed!

Many thanks, again, Reece, I always look forward to your excellent input and observations, and value your opinion very highly.  I'm very grateful for your input, friendship and support here on the forum, and it means a great deal to me.

Have a great night, buddy!
Bob

Hi Bob this sound great ! Man your hard rock guitar playing gets better everytime I listen to one of your new tunes .
Are you creating and playing everything yourself or do you have some other Band members working with you ?

Hey what drum software are you using , everything sounds killer Bob !

Keep on rocking , love it - James

Hey, James,

How are you, buddy?  It's great to see you back around on the forum!

Thanks for checking this song out for me, and for your very kind comments!

Yes, Sir, it's all just me doing everything by myself.  As for the drum software, I use Steven Slate Drums, which I've been very happy with.  They just seem to need a lot less tweaking to get the sound that I want, compared to the other drum programs that I've used.  A little fine tuning with some EQ, some saturation, balancing and compression, and it's pretty close to what I'm hearing in my head for my songs.

Thanks again, James, for giving "Lucky Day" a listen, and best wishes for a great Thanksgiving holiday!
Bob

Great tune!  Killer guitar playing, as usual.  Vocals are great and I'm really enjoying the drums too.  Lyrics are all easy to hear.  Great job!

Hi Bob ! Hey I also use Steven Slate drums , which version are you using and what are you triggering your Steven Slate drum software with ?
I have to use Addictive Drums that sort of works , it doesn't trigger all the drums mostly the Bass drum and Snare .
The drum mapping isn't right for that software in Addictive Drums , right now I'm having problems activating my product  with ( Native Instruments ) .
I hit the activate button after I installed it and it took me to their web site , problem is I have a different IP computer number now that I'm using my new PC .
I contacted support and gave them all that information , hopefully after the holidays I will hear from them so they can update my online information so my software will work as a full working version not the Demo version .

Happy Holidays Bob !
James

Hi again, James,

Yes, I'm using Steven Slate Drums 3.5 with a bunch of expansion packs.  I almost recently upgraded to 4.0, but after going through the same thing that you are now, setting up and customizing a new PC and then installing tons of software, plugins, virtual instruments, and having to jump through hoops to re-register and reauthorize everything, I decided to stick with Slate 3.5 for now.

I trigger Slate Drums using either set of Yamaha pads or more often recently, my M-Audio Keyrig 49 midi controller because I'm much faster just using my fingers.

Anyway, I'm sure Native Instruments support will get back to you soon to get you up and running again.

Thanks again, James, for checking out the song, and best wishes for the upcoming Christmas season, buddy!
Bob
