I like the track...it's a good song.. The low end is a little heavy and the vocals a little too out front for my taste in this genre...

Hey Bob! Man this tune rocks!!! Reminds me of some good old Ronnie Montrose a bit. I too think the low end is VERY deep, as my sub was bouncing off the floor. Maybe adjust your cutoff filter for a steeper slope, or roll off the level below 80 Hz a bit more?? Also, I had a hard time getting definition out of the bass, so maybe a tweak in the low mids might help??? I thought the vox was just right on my system. And this tune is LOUD!!! LOL Fine job on those guitars too! Just a few tweaks, and I think this one is ready for prime time. Thanks.

Your awesome guitar playing just stuns me. I like the lyrics, especially "I had my lucky day when I found you". I don't have a subwoofer, so I can't comment on the bass, but everything was well defined on my monitors. The only thing I heard concerns the vocal. I thought it lacked some mids which made it sound a little bright. Yet, it cuts through everything, and I'm a fan of being able to understand the lyrics regardless of the genre. All this needs is a few minor tweaks to elevate this mix into an absolute gem. Encore, maestro.

Hi Bob, Its been awhile since I heard anything from you and this is a pleasant surprise. I like rockers and you know how to play and mix those guitars. I can't comment on bass either on my ipod earbuds. The mix does fit these very well. I think you have another winner on your hands. Thanks for sharing this here!

Well, I thought maybe you would change and do opera, NOT! I like the way it starts and the panning and all. Your recording technique is awesome. Actually, I'm on pretty good monitors (BX8a) and hear no rumble or any low overtones that shouldn't be there. It's well balanced to my ears. Of course, everyone knows old guys can't hear. LOL. It's a good song and it's played, sung, recorded and mixed well.

Ok the first thing i notice was the picture, that guitar looks awesome bro! The song was great and the tone on the guitar solo was pretty good too. there seems to be more low end which makes it harder to detect what the intro guitar parts are doing but your material is pretty good.

Bob ========================================= tbosco: Hey, Tony, How's it going, buddy? Hope you're doing great! Thanks very much for giving this a listen for me, and also for your good input and observations! I will definitely take a good look at the low end on this. I'm a big believer in high pass filtering every single track, including the kick drum and bass guitar, which are the only tracks on this song with anything below 80hz at the moment. I always record my 5-string bass bi-amped to two separate tracks, with one EQed for deep lows and the other for more mids, clack and fret noise, and then try to balance them with the deep drop tuned rhythm guitars. So, hopefully, with a little more EQ surgery, I'll be able to get some more definition out of the bass and also sweep out some low end. Thanks again for listening and commenting, greatly appreciated! Have a great weekend! Bob =========================================== notnat: Hey, Frank, How are you, buddy? Hope you're having a great weekend! Had me at the intro Bob, great stuff. Love that descending/ascending riff, very tasty. Good touch on the verse arrangement to take the guitars out until the bridge, that really sets it up for the chorus. Slinky solo too, like that. One of your best I reckon.

You got formula for that B I G sound! Killer guitars. The vocals could use a pitch tweak in couple of spots, but loved the harmony. Love that harmony guitar break thing. Nice tone on the lead guitar break. I assume you are tuned down a step? Have you tried 7 string yet? Daryl

Ok, this one, I REALLY LIKE!! Most specifically from a lyrical POV, cuz I think they are on point, almost wish I'd've wrote them!! I'll say I'm not a huge fan of many styles rock short of punk, alternative, and hard, but I can say the drumkit sounds just a little too 'made', if you know what I mean. It's a nice tune, though!

Lynn: Hey, Lynn, Thank you, brother, for checking in on this and also for your kind words of encouragement and good input and observations! Yes, Sir, it looks like I may have a little bit of EQ tweaking to do on the bass guitar and vocals. I've noticed that when I use Cake's Channel Tools plugin, the high end on the Vox can sometimes get over emphasized a little. Hopefully, a touch of EQ here and there will fine tune things a bit. Great song love the style although I interpret it like a sandwich with the ground on its own the solo (well played indeed) in the middle and the song on the top. Open up the ground and the song and it will be a Pizza on the beach a sunny day.

Yep, on this one I'm tuned to Drop C for heavier, darker sounding low tones. I've actually only played a 7 string once or twice, but at the time, couldn't really get used to the feel. I normally use a bunch of odd tunings when I record, and actually did a few songs tuned to the top six strings of a 7 string. I posted one here last fall and a few members actually asked if I used a seven string on the song, and I explained that it was just a six string tuned to 7 string tuning. But hey, who knows? I originally said I'd never buy a 5 string bass, and since I did a few years back, my 4 string hardly ever comes out of the case. Thanks again, Daryl, appreciate your input, buddy!
