New PC install process

Hello, I am upgrading my PC and installing Win8. I have had Sonar since Sonar 7 and I'm just wondering, do I have to install that version and then all of the subsequent upgrades I purchased all the way up to X2, or is there a way for me to just install X2 using my downloaded upgrade installer?

You can install any version you own, they are all complete versions and do not rely on previous versions to install. You may install X2 only from the X2 downloaded installers along with the X2a update (important for Win8). Then add any plug-ings from previous version using the advanced install for that version. Some versions included extra libraries for the synths (I am thinking DimPro extras that came with SONAR 8/8.5) on the Additional Content disk. IIRC, you will need to perform a minimum install of the SONAR version associated with the Additional Content disk, to get the Additional Content disk to install.
