New Plugin with X3d...?
Hey folks, When I installed X3d update and ran it the first time I recall the VST scan showing that I had one new plugin added. I don't remember what it was, because it caught my eye right before the VST scan disappeared. Did X3 actually add a new plugin or was I imagining things? Edited to add that it was the X3d update that I was referring to... :)

I believe the Quad Curve was updated. It would show up as a new plug-in.

I could have sworn I saw it state there was one new plugin added. Then again...I'm old and senile :)

Same thing happened here but on the next X3 startup the count went right back to what it was previously. From reading the related threads I'm assuming that it must have had something to do with the Quadcurve EQ update. I must admit that I was a little excited when I saw the message that there may have been another freebie included with the upgrade but no such luck! Dave

Yeah, I think the Pro Channel modules do this on the first scan when they're updated because they are VST plugins. But every time thereafter they seem to be treated as internal plugins instead so are no longer listed along with other VSTs. Well, at least that's my theory.

The plug in manager still has issues with reporting. My count has to stabilize over the course of a few scans before it shows the real number on a regular basis.

I've never really counted my plugs, but your post made me check the new scanner popup and it went to 619 plugs (3 new) when I launched X3d. 619? Really? I must have a lot of plugs I'm not using! I wonder what kind of numbers the likes of Bapu™ are getting... Sven

Really? Wow. I did a fresh install a few weeks ago on a clean machine, and only installed NI stuff with it, so my count might go up. But 619 sounds ... confusing :)

Before I cleared out my Waves plugins I had I think 1704...there are multiple versions of each Wave Plugin so that accounts for a lot of increase in plugins, as well as both the 32 and 64 bit versions of plugins. So, while it seems like a lot, the "multiples" included in a single Waves Plugin can add 10 to the count for what is actually 1 plugin.

So I really only have like eleven plugs?

Waves really takes the cake (ha...ha...), when I upgraded from Ren to Diamond I went from like 100 tot 500 something. They split all their plugs into components for cpu saving purposes. Q10 EQ has something like 6 versions with different numbers of bands, then 32 bit, 64 bit, VST2 and 3 and some of their plugs do mono/stereo and even surround as well.

Well if I could scan 32bit and 64bit Waves in 64bit X3 (something we SHOULD NEVER DO) I have godzillan plugs.
