New Pop/Rock Tune Featuring Nashville's Palmer Lee on Vocals
I think I may have posted this song before with me singing, but it has since undergone a major overhaul. The new version has moved up tempo quite a bit, and the instrumentation is totally different. And of course I have a talented vocalist replacing me. Check it out and see what you think. Special thanks to Bapu and Danny Danzi for input and feedback while I was working on this. All comments welcome, of course. Note added- Thanks to Tom (DeeringAmps) I have replaced the WAV file. https://soundcloud.com/phil-doyle-292979186/i-am-what-i-am-poprock-version

Philz - this is awesome! Love the sound, the keys, the guitars! vocals are excellent! the Pop sounding bass and drums aren't my favorite, but it makes this sound like a radio ready tune! the master compressor/limiter is a little harder than I like hearing, but again, for the pop genre, it fits, so I'm not really suggesting a change. great stuff!

Very nice indeed! Really like the doubled vocal when it goes to the III chord. Is it just me or is there a little "hiccup" at the 25 second mark? I paused and pulled it back a few times to see if it was a streaming thing; seemed consistent... T

Thanks, Tom, you were right. There was an issue there. Oddly it occurred only on the WAV export but not on the mp3's. The WAV is what's on Soundcloud. I just replaced it.

Phil, Sounded more country than pop/rock on first listen, then I noticed the "Nashville's Palmer Lee" in the subject line. So no wonder. She's a great singer!
Nicely arranged song. I like the accompanying instruments and how they fit in so well with the vocalist. Very well done!

Cool, electro-country pop. It certainly has interesting mix of genres that still works well. About the only mix nit I would have is that I'd personally like to hear a bit more width on the vocals - maybe by spreading the harmonies a little or some side-ways delay. But that's a nit.

Strong pop-tune! I like the Lyrics. Well performed and produced. (The snare could have a bit more punch, crack though...) Yeah, it has a bit of 80's vibe to it (...Blondie?) Good stuff! Cheers,

I agree, it took me aback a little, but it really works. I liked that a lot. Reminds me of contemporary acts like Goldfrapp and Jane Weaver.

Well I for one like the drums, maybe a little more dynamic variation on the snare rools might help, but that's nit picking.
