New Protools 9 Le and Sonar X1

I see protools 9 LE  is due out shortly and has all the features of the HD system but most of all you are no longer tied to specific hardware which no one really wanted you can now use 3rd party hardware which is interesting.

Yes, I don't remember any mention of Protools 9 "LE" unless that is a new product option.

PT LE with the release of PT9 doesn't exist anymore. One version. ADC for all.

I think it was the hardware issue that was stopping existing users using Protools. If the hardware issue is now gone many users will try it out that never used this software before.
I received this info from Mixing with Pros.

LE is being phased out, though the MBox line is keeping LE version 8 for the time being, Avid havn't commented further on what will happen in the future.

    M Box 3 is shipping with PT9

8LE owners can 'crossgrade' to 9 for 250 bucks but will need a Digidesign approved system and Windows 7 to have a 'supported' system.

What I'm not sure of is, will my LE8 expression pack still work and can it be transferred to a new computer or do I have to pay another 250 for redundant software.

It's a moot point because I 'aint buyin' a Win 7 machine just yet anyway!

All a big rip off really.
