New Rusty Pickers Bluegrass demo

Hi Folks,

It has been a while since I posted because the day job is killing me, but we managed to get a few hours to put down a new demo of an original tune. A simple little track about a coming and going.

    sounds pretty well balanced.

    nothing like a train song.....

    sounds good to me.

One of the hardest things with BG music is to get the instruments captured properly. IMHO the hardest one to get sounding right is the bass. 90% of the time it is an old upright acoustic with a mic on it...... on the speakers I'm listening on there is a bit to a boominess to the bass. I'd try rolling the lower end off a bit with EQ to clean that up.

    the rest sounded pretty decent.

    Thanks for the listen Herb,

You know your stuff so I will take another listen to the bass and see what I can do to fix it. I have listened to this tune more than enough so it all becomes a bit of a mess after a while.

    Your advice is much appreciated.

    Thanks,

This sounds great. Reminds me of a day many, many years ago when an old neighbor and I spent about six hours play old railroad song. I don't think there was a train  song he didn't know. Very nicely don't guys. Great song.

    Peace and blessings, John

I love this... I used to pick regularly at a weekly Jam session... We played a lot of folk & bluegrass tunes... I miss those get togethers... This tune is very well played and produced... Great work...

This sounds very well produced on first listen and only gets better the second time around.  On my system, all sounds balanced and in its place.   The vocal and performances hit the mark.  Well done.

    All the best,

OK, buddy, I loved this.  We need more bluegrass music.  It just makes you feel good!  You guys did a fine job on this.  The mix sounds very good and almost live feeling.  This is an A+, and original!  I love it.
