New SSDs are out - which is best for samples use?

We now have a few new generation SSDs out:
- OCZ Vertex 3
- Intel 320 "G3" and 510
- Micron/Crucial C400

Compared to previous generation SSDs, it looks like these newer SSDs have higher sequential read speeds, but lower random read speeds. There are detailed benchmarks for these SSDs already for people that are interested.

I'm about to buy a SSD for my operating system and samples library, does anyone know whether it's better to go with the newer generation SSDs (in other words sequential speed is important) or the older generation SSDs (in other words random speed is important)?

Unless you have SATAIII controller - you most likely won't get those 'higher' sequential reads. Especially if you run more than one.

Not sure about the statement that the new SSDs have 'lower random read speeds'. From what I have read, they're a tad faster (if using SATAIII).

IO Meter - 4KB Random Read, QD=3 (MB/s, Higher is better)
    OCZ Vertex 3 240GB SSD (Using SATAIII) - 68.8
    OCZ Agility 2 120GB SSD - 57.6
    WD VelociRaptor HDD - 0.68

Either way, old or new, SSD's are so much faster than HDD.

    OS pointless...
    samples drive nice!
i am using the new Intel 250G 459 read from Sisoft Sandra..

So what's the most important benchmark result for samples library use?
    - sequential read speed?
    - random read speed?
    - 4kb or 64kb or 512kb read speed?
    - IOPS?
    - productivity, gaming or database simulation benchmark?

So many benchmarks but not sure which is relevant to samples loading and streaming.

(By the way, I'm hoping that if I have OS on SSD, it will make all my vsti's load faster everytime I restart sonar and it scans for vsti's)

The Intel 510 and Intel G3 have slower 4kb random read than the Intel G2.
The C400 has slower 4kb random read than the C300.
Only the Vertex 3 has decent 4kb random read speed, but even so, its 4kb speed is slower than the Intel G2.
