New Setup

Hi,
I'm trying a new setup, have got a Mackie Pro fx8 mixer and want to use this instaed of my
V-Studio 20, it's meant to have better mic pre amps and some nice guitar effects, this sounds
like a dumb question, but can I use this straight into Sonar, and if so how ?

Thanks
John

reading the manual, you just plug it (usb) in and you are good to go, only 2 channels of audio can be recorded or played back via usb, so you would have to get your mix sorted first with the mixer then record it

Because it has USB for connecting to a DAW yes you use it directly.

John i was reading the posts on the mackie forum i posted in that reply, one guy said to get cubase to recognise it he had to switch to the full duplex asio driver that comes with cubase, so you can try asio for all or wdm drivers cuz it doesnt come with asio support that mixer
