Great tone on the guitars, I really like the steel sound you have. How did you do that? Is it samples? Nice story too.

Thanks Robbie! That's a true story that happened to me in January 2011. And I actually did run into a friend of mine at the unemployment office. That's a real lap steel and banjo in there too. I'm not very good at either one! LOL But hey, I tried right? Thanks for listening and for the kind words Robbie!

I have a lap steel, and have played it on several songs, it's cool, it's really just a guitar that's designed to be played with a piece of steel in your lap, with high action. It's a neat instrument :-) pedal steel is the really cool one, with the pedals and levers? However, I refuse to learn another instrument, I play enough already. Still pretty cool that you played the lap steel on this :-)

Thanks again Robbie. Yeah, I've been wanting a pedal steel for years, but just haven't made the plunge yet. Hoping to have one someday. They're so cool!

Thank you Rimshot! I appreciate you taking the time to listen. This is a genre that I don't typically play, so it's nice to hear that it sounds okay. Thanks for the kind words about the lead guitar parts.

Great song! I could use some of that story myself(I hate my job). Nice sound and guitar playing all around, and the vocals are twangy and cool.

Cool tune/production... the vox seems a little over-compressed to me... love the lyrics...

Thanks a lot Moe. Country is uncharted territory for me so I was just trying to have some fun with it. Thank you for your kind words on the guitars and vocals.

Thanks for the kind words notnat! I wanted the vox to be way out there in front to convey the frustration I was feeling at the situation, as I really was freaking out when it happened. Maybe I over-conveyed that! :) Glad you liked the lyrics. Life can be a great inspiration for songs!

I like it! You have a good twangy vocal delivery there ... very listenable and not too compressed by modern country standards, I don't think. Good mix ... if I were producing this, I might put a bit more verb on the lead guitar licks, but otherwise it's fine. The song itself is good. Two suggestions: I might save the title for the chorus instead of having it in the first verse, and the song seems to end too soon. Maybe repeat a variation of the chorus? Overall, good work! Cheers, Eddie

This is a very good song with great lyrics that should inspire some people going through a scenario like this. Your message of being happy with what you have is well conveyed by your terrific vocal. The guitar is right on, and the tone reminded me of Dire Straits. You should be very proud of this.

Thanks Eddie! I'm usually a hard rock guy, so this definitely off the beaten path for me. I appreciate the feedback on the verb and the words. Thanks for listening!
