New Song - "The Incident"
Hi, I've got a new song up - created with SONAR Platinum of course. It's here http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13437902and it's called "The Incident". It's mostly guitar (with ampsims) Superior Drums Trilian Bass and a couple of Arturia synths (Mini and SEM) all feedback is welcome ;-)

Your synthy break sure has some hella cool chords as it moves back to the verse. Really thoughtful choices there. Overall there are lots of cool chord changes that break the rules - love it!
Are the drums live or AD? They sound pretty good on my system.
the ending . . . I think you could maybe do something there . . . :)

This is pretty good John! I think the opening could have used a little more intro, but that's just me. Really like the chorus section and the drum break/synth/solo. Lots of good bits here and there. Guitar on the left might be just a tad too loud. Tom is right, these drums fit really well.

I liked it! It has a loose feel which is great because I like that human quality. The only thing I would do different is hard pan some of the instrumentation. There is a lot going on up the middle. Good job.

Hi John - sorry, I missed your comment.
Thanks for listening and for the comments. I'm always a little nervous about panning anything more than 60 - 70% and some of these guitars a re a little less. I did try to give them some stereo "placement" though.
Maybe I should play around with some hard panning more often...

Good stuff John and the mix translated very nicely on headphones. I thought the bass on this is very good and worked out really well with the drums. Had a bit of funk element to it......which I like. :))
Adding synths does give it an added dimension......keep up the good work mate!!!

Great piece! Very skillful playing and arrangement. I especially enjoy the interaction between the synths and the guitar. I also have the Trilian Bass module. I've always been in awe of the power of that program.

Hey, this is a bit different for you... It still has your rock-funky grooves and riffs, but a little more eclectic in some way. The change-up in chord progressions between sections is really cool. And yeah, you definitely get some good use out of those amp sims, and FWIW, you should add synths more often.  The mix sounds good from here, maybe a little left-oriented in spots, but still great separation and clarity.

This sounds really great through my headphones. I really love the way the drums sound. I like the style! I think maybe I miss a tiny bit of (more?) reverb on the guitars... And like mentioned before, maybe a bit more hard pan..
