There's nothing wrong with some "southern twang"!

Good tune - nice guitar parts (and tone) and good vocals! Enjoyed it a lot.

Don't fix it in the mix ... Fix it in the take!

It sounds lively, and Mighty fine to me, and I am a southerner!

Excellent mix, with the exception in my opinion of the panning for the acoustic breaks/lead, it should be centered IMO. I understand why you done it, I just think it would sound better centered on the breaks, not the entire tune. JMO.  Maybe you should post two version's, one more with the centered idea and let others decide.

BTW: Whoever played lead went nuts on the speed picking, VERY COOL!!!!!!!!!

Either way, I'm a fan, I loved it!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is awesome! I love every bit of it. Did you clone the rhythm guitar track, or did you play it twice? I hear the actual lead breaks down the middle as they should be. The other little breaks seem to have been played by the rhythm guitars, which is fine IMO, as it adds a special effect to the song. Well done.

wow so different Mark. Awesome acoustic playing, I couldn't do that in a million years! Singer is good, maybe i'd like a little different vocal line through the song though, but otherwise very very good!

Nice guitars!  I like where you placed the guitars.  I would bring the voice a bit up.  Otherwise it sounds great!

    Mark/Josh

Awesome tune! The guitars sound killer. Nice and tight/clean. Josh's voice sounds Great. Full sounding. Didn't even think about any other instrumentation while listening. Just enjoyed. Very satisfying for acoustic and vox only.

I agree with MGH, vocal line is killing me. I was hoping for something more like this, especially with that awesome guitar line.

Wow! I like this tune,  but honestly wasn't expecting such rave reviews.  They are much appreciated!

    Bobby,

Thanks for the comments & suggestions.  The rhythm guitars are panned about 75% L/R.  This one was actually a little difficult for me to get sounding right with two rhythm tracks, but it just sounded better with two instead one so I kept at it.  I played both tracks all the way through instead of copying & pasting.

The leads where doubled tracked as well but panned only about 30% L/R.  I wanted them to be more centered than the rhythm but still be full sounding & spread out a bit.

All the guitar tracks where played by yours truly.  Glad you liked it.

    Scotty,

I played both the  rhythm & lead tracks twice.  I've always been a fan of twin guitar bands & copying the track just doesn't get the same effect for me usually.

    James,

Thanks for listening & glad you liked it.

    MGH,

Yes this is a very different sound for me.  I just played the opening rhythm out of the blue & said "hey put something to this".  Josh then started spouting off some cool lines & we just went with it until we had the basic idea for the song.  Wish that would happen more often.

    Rhyno,

Glad you liked it as it is.  I was tempted to add some simple drums but kind of like it without it.  Might do a different version later with some more instruments.  I agree Josh sounds good on this.  Not his usual style but it works.

    Joshua,

Thanks for listening.  I love that old GNR acoustic stuff.  Some of my favorite.  Not sure we can touch that.

Thank to all who gave it a listen!

catchy title. Sweet guitar playing. Good lyrics. REALLY sweet guitar playing. I'd love to hear this with a band behind you. Solid vocal too. Terrific stuff.

    Hey, Mark,

This is really excellent!  I love the rich acoustic guitar tone and the great playing, and Josh's vocals are perfect for the song.

    Thanks again guys!

We came up with that title because neither of us are really into country music, but as we are both from the south I guess we've got a little country in us.  Just wanted to keep it fun.

We have messed around playing this with the band we're in and it sounds a lot different.  Less country.  Might have to do a full band version at sometime.

Glad you you guys like the guitar playing.  I've been banging on that acoustic allot lately.   Mixing this one was one of the easier projects I've done.  Probably because it's only Vox & Guitar.

Appreciate the comments & taking the time to listen.

I cut my teeth on Southern Rock.  I toured with a southern rock band (back in the middle of the previous century ).  It's still my favorite rock and I've been doing more of it again lately.

This is good tune.   Nice puch on the acoustic.

More harmonies would be cool, but it's pretty fine as is.

Great guitar work (but then I like all guitar players).  Excellent playing.  Good vocals very southern rock.

    Thanks for the compliments Daryl.

I've never played too much Southern Rock although I did grow up listening to allot of Lynard Skynard.  I think this might be one of my best pieces even though it's not my normal style.  I'm pretty pleased with it.

Glad to hear a southern rock fan thinks it a good tune!

Hmm....seems like you had this same problem with one of my other songs.  I've never had that happen to me on Soundclick.  Wish I new the reason for this.  I've had a couple others tell me similar problems.
