I bought the Sweetwater preorder sale when they sent it out about two weeks ago. I got a lic # sent to me shortly after the purchase. I went to the new site today and registered the product. I am now downloading what appears to be EZD2!

As I am waiting for the download to complete I checked out some of the popular music websites and even TT's Facebook page and not a peep from anybody about the new update. It appears we are one of the first to know about it! Maybe that is why it is downloading so blazingly fast on my high speed connection. 2.7GB's in less than 15 minutes........get it before the maddening rush...............

Got mine installed, authorized and working. Hopefully, the EZX 2 updates are on the way too! I have about a dozen of those to update as well. All in all, I am quite pleased with the EZD 2 roll out. Early adopters got the jump on everyone else, the download, install and authorization was quick and easy. I would say a big thumbs up to TT on this one! Too bad I will not have much time to play, as I have to work early tomorrow morning, it's getting late and I have a busy week ahead. At least it gives me something to look forward to for the upcoming weekend.

Dave I can't get mine authorized. The file I d/l is: TT206_EZdrummer2_WIN_192 I am now trying to d/l it again to see if something was corrupted. I am in my account and I have EZD2 registered and authorized. But EZD2 that's installed on my offline music PC (which is my main pc) doesn't/won't see the .tt_auth file.

Can I install those updates (LP and Rock) safely with EZ1 Mod Bod? Or should I wait until I have EZ2?

I am suspecting that someone made a really bad mistake with this new website. I've downloaded the file you mentioned but I don't want to run it and see what it is in case its hoses up my current build.

I don't know at the present. I need to find out what version you have in case this was an errant release of an early beta that was meant as a test of the website only. EZD2 should have overwritten EZD1 and if you update any kits, AFAIK, you will lose them in Superior if you use them there. Like I said, I know nothing of a soft release at this time and I don't think these files should be out in the public.

Ok guys, I have checked the file available in the downloads area of the Toontrack site and started the installer. It immediately told me that there was a more current version on my computer. This more or less confirms to me that the file on the TT site that is available is an earlier beta and not a finished version. That doesn't mean it's going to blow up your system if you already installed it. I would hold off until a bit and see if there is any sort of public announcement about it. The TT forum is all but hosed and I have made contact through the betatest team access to see what is going on. Unfortunately, I suspect most of them are asleep at the present. If you installed this version of EZD2 then EZD1 is overwritten. IIRC, all of my EZX kits were still functional but not updated to where the cool new presets and graphics came into play. You still should be able to work on projects. If you have downloaded the EZD2 files, I'd advise you to hold off till the real release is ready to go.

Yes I would hold off also. It will not accept the authorization file. And it over wrote my EZD. So I'm SOL until something is done. I tried uninstalling and no go. EZD2 still trying to get authorized. Project drums will not play. I am trying to do a offline authorization

hmm, just saw this thread after I just installed. Seems to work, but the MIDI files will not play from the player. I get silence although I can play the drums. The Yamaha edrum mapping has the same problem the SD2 Yamaha mapping has with the crash tip playing the ride crash. I had written to toontrack support about this before for sd 2.

Hmmmm............I guess I got lucky then. My EZD 2 authorized (I did it immediately after install online and took just a few seconds) and from the 15-20 minutes I played around with it (loading kits, using the tap to find, song creator, etc) it worked fine. Not missing using EZ 1 at all. It was nice to get the jump on everyone else for a change. Cheers, Billy Buck

I'm not surprised that it's working fine and you should be OK for all intents and purposes. I would go through all of your libraries and midi to see if there is anything missing or not working properly.

Grem, I would think that if you uninstalled EZ 2, ran a registry cleaner, and checked your hard drive for "residue" of the program and deleted it, you would be able to reinstall EZ 1...but I don't know.
This is ONE BIG reason why you should be able to KEEP your old installation when installing a new version. If the new version doesn't "work properly" you have a way of continuing to work while the problem is sorted out. This is one BIG thing I applaud Cakewalk for...having the foresight to allow this...

Thanks larry. Tried that last night. I have a weekly backup I can fall back to if need be. Just trying to get out of that. But looks like that's what I will do. And a big yes on the 'Keep older version alive" when installing a newer version!!
