Congrats. The very first thing I'd do is replace that plastic nut with a bone. A great time to have the nut action set to your preference too.

I'll probably have this done during the first full setup....but it has to be done for sure.

Here's how that goes... A musician is someone who puts $5,000.00 worth of equipment into a $500.00 car to go to a $50.00 gig....

A musician is someone who puts $5,000.00 worth of equipment into a $500.00 car to go to a $50.00 gig....
and comes away with $10 because it's a 5 piece band. Then spends $20 on petrol gas to get home...

Nice deal there! A band that makes money probably has a printing press in the back of the van.
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

I got a chance to play it...all the strings were loose when it arrived, I'm sure to keep from having tension on the neck during shipping. Once it was tuned I checked the intonation and it was right on the money... You certainly don't find that very often. The Neck is nice...very "fast" and "playable". And the action is awesome!
Quite content...but I'll know more after putting it through it's paces tonite at rehearsal...

I saw that one in my newsfeed - Gorgeous guitar. Charvel do make a few guitars I'd be curious to try, and they certainly have a few I'd grab if I could. But it's just not in the cards right now, and I really don't need another electric. Enjoy yours! :)

Ok, after a thorough workout with it... It's different...it has a much different sound (as it should) then my MTP-375...which also has 81/85, but the M has a carved curly Maple Top...(in my profile Pic) while the Desolation has a carved Mahogany Top so I'm sure that's a lot of it...I'll have to get used to it....but I'm liken' it...just have to get "dialed in" but pretty much there after playing all night with it, but still not 100%...
