New Tune- Days Of Splendor

This is an original piano tune I have been working on. I'm going to try and embed it here, but in case that flops there will be a link at the bottom of the page.

Hi Tim, nice composition, would love to hear it without the high synths, they are a bit distracting. The piano sounds very muddy imho.

Rik- I appreciate your comments here. I spent quite a bit of time trying to get that piano sound right. I'm willing to go back and work with it. Can you tell me what you listened to this on? Maybe someone else can comment on where the mud seems to be.

I rolled off the low frequency. Since piano is carrying this mix I didn't want to trunciate the sound too much. I have some piano presets in Alloy that seem to thin it down to make it fit in a denser mix. Here that's not the case.I didn't want to put an exciter on it and give it too much shine.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi Tim, I think it's the contrast between the high synth and the piano that makesit sound muddy. The piano should be the focus imho. You've got a very nice composition on piano. I Don't think it needs much more. Imho you should either have the synths interact with the piano, call and answer style or leave them out. Just my 2 cents. I know it's not easy to add something to piano, Janet and me had a lot of trouble in the past. ; )

Very nice Tim - I am listening on crappy speakers but my initial feeling was the same as Rik - the piano is muddy.
The piano is the star on this so it's worth spending the time on getting the sound just right. Great stuff though

Those high strings are a bit out of place, but it's a fine composition and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
