New VST SCAN

Is there a way to set up the vst scanning utility to scan only newly added ones?  Sometimes I want to try one of two, but have to wait while the total scan takes place.  Seems there should be a simple way to scan for new vsts only.  Any suggestions will be appreciated.  Thank you.

I think that's what happens if you don't have either of the "Rescan" boxes ticked. Of course, the folders listed in your VST Scan Paths still have to be scanned to find new files, but it shouldn't pause on any plug-ins previously found unless they've been updated.

Makes sense, however, I guess no matter what it will rescan everything or nothing at all, eh?

I was just thinking that when a VST I downloaded didn't want to show up.
I thought, hmmm Cakewalk should add an explorer context menu item where you can right click on a effect's dll and choose Sonar scan plugin - with a success / failure dialog too.

That may be too much to ask as it may be so error prone leaving it up to us mere mortals to choose what file to click on especially with today's windows hiding the file extensions by default.
