New Wireless Computer Keyboard and Mouse

Greetings from Seattle,

Here I am again, in need of a new keyboard and mouse.  Not that the current one has stopped working, I just don't like it.  Anyone have a good idea for a good quality wireless keyboard other than the standard ones you find available.   I have looked at the Sonar shortcut keyboards, they all seem to be for older versions of Sonar. The button labels are the same. Suggestions please.

What specifically do you dislike about the standard ones that are available?

Just speaking of Logitech keyboards, for example, I find a fair amount of differences with the keybed "feel" between various models like the MK320, MK520 and TK820 (these have very different keybeds).

Since keyboard feel is so subjective, best that you go to a store and try some out.  Is there an electronics superstore near you?

Alternatively, Amazon has a huge selection that you can browse through.  Again, best if we knew what you liked/didn't like so we can make some suggestions.

Thanks guys.. I had to bury my old trusty wireless keyboard and bought a new Logitech.   it just feels cheap and the key bed is pretty crappy.  I check out Amazon and see what I can find.

I have the Logitech MK700/MK710 pair (keyboard and mouse) and have been REALLY happy with them (I've had other Logitech devices; some good; some could have been better).

Keyboard feels great. Mouse feels great. No wireless issues (a very small nub on a USB2 stick (their Unified Wireless transceiver)). Terrific battery life.

And the good news is that the combo is a LOT cheaper than when I bought it 3 or so years ago.

I use both a Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse (Microsoft)

They have worked great for several years...

If you don't need wireless go old school. I hate the Logictech Bluetooth for gaming.  I sit about 7 feet away and had to put their  bluetooth thing on a USB cable for it to work better.  I still like those older receptors. Unfortunately my previous Logitech wireless was great but is consumed batteries.
If you are going to be at a desk skip the wireless crap.  I do find the MS stuff better quality than Logitech. Funny how they have removed PCI and FW but keep those trusty old PS/2 ports on boards.

I had to replace my keyboard about two years ago.  I went through about 6 keyboards from Logitech and others that I didn't like for one reason or another.  I finally settled on a Microsoft wireless keyboard (and mouse) combo.  It is a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 2000.  It does not interfere with other wireless devices such as my Frontier Tranzport.

I got a nice backlit cabled keyboard for Christmas to go with the wirelss Key and mouse. It's been real handy having both. The one I got was only about $15 on Ebay I believe.

    It's Bass, not Bass.

I would say away from a mouse that has side buttons.  I have locked my computer by accidently gripping to tight.  Yeah, I play keyboards but can't work a mouse.  2 button plus center wheel works the best for quick tool selection and scrolling.  Cheers
