New X1c song - only 1 audio problem throughout
I just completed a rough of a song I wrote called California Here I Come (not the original!). Here's the link to soundcloud if you want to check it out: http://soundcloud.com/jimmy-saad/calif-here-i-come I had only one problem with the whole song. When I was audio stretching my acoustic guitar, all was good until suddenly the entire sound upon playback sounded like a put the guitar into a sweep eq effect (very tinny, highs to low changing throughout). Some of the track was still good but I had to start over and rerecord the acoustic. I was very pleased as I was doing the audio stretching by moving transients to line up with bar/beats and the sound was fine for at least two hours. Then the glitch. Anyone every had that happen? Besides that, I did a lot of v-vocal editing, midi editing of live finger drums, bass, piano, and strings. I used SD3 with the brush set, Cakewalk Instruments bass, piano, and strings ( I normally use Dimension Pro for this but I was just checking out the others and was pleasantly surprised how they sounded in the mix). Also, I used Boost11 on the master bus but overall, the levels were too hot. So instead of bringing down all faders assigned to the master bus, I created a new bus, re-routeded all tracks to it and then I could easily control the overall level going into Boost11. This help to reduce some of the pumping I was hearing. I learned alot and had fun doing it. Hope you like the song/sounds. BTW, I am working on my country lead playing. The track you hear is rough and not finished yet. Rimshot

JR: I was wondering if anyone would catch that. It is me blowing into a half empty beer bottle trying to sound like a train whistle! I think it ended up sounding like a fog horn! LOL.

Mike, Thanks for listening. I too would like to hear what others are doing with it. I think the upload to Soundcloud works pretty good. I uploaded as a wave but I don't know for sure what we listen back as a wave or MP3. I wish you could hear the song in its native format. Rimshot.

One of the interesting uses of the new FXChains feature in X1E is that you can now have an automatable gainstage anywhere within an effects bin. Either put the plugin you want to control inside an effects chain or create an empty chain before the plugin you wish to affect. It can be pretty handy when you want fine grained control over the gain staging within an effects bin.

To All, I presented my new song to illustrate the PC functionality with vocals and guitars. The genre helps due to the fact that I have alot of space around the instruments. If you have a snippet of a song to emphasis any sound issue you are having with X1, don't you think that would help us all understand better what you are talking about? For example, the use of the PC EQ and/or comps, in my music, they seem much more transparent than bringing in the Sonitus effects for these tracks. However, since X1 was my choice, I did not provide you with the comparison. I would like to hear the issues others are having (if possible) rather than just reading about them. Any thoughts? Thanks.
