New amp distortion plug

Won't replace Scuffham, but the free stuff is getting good.

JAMP download at:

http://lostin70s.monsite-orange.fr/

Has a more muffled presence unless the treble is kicked up, but worth the download and install. Up there with the best of the freebies.

Site also has a decent guitar compressor and a spring reverb (got too many reverbs to go for another one).

Hi point from here is the level of the sustain on JAMP. Can't argue the price.

It crashed SONAR with an access violation when I tried it (32-bit version under 8.5.3).

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    Bit my friend,

Sorry about that. Got to come out of the closet here and confess my dark sins..

8.5.3 was loaded to the gills with my sick plugoholic excess. So damn many plugins that Sonar couldn't test JAMP. Had to load it into the ..."R"...word to test it. where it worked solid stable as a niche, smooth howling overdrive.  Not impressed by the limited cab impulses they provide, but in the balance, risk versus benefit, more good than harm to download and add it to the arsenal.

Will have to uninstall a few thousand plugs and see if I can get a credible launch in win XP 32-bit Sonar X2.

    Best,
    John

    Followup on this.

Loaded JAMP into Sonar 8.5.3 and it runs great.

Likely a graphics problem. I vaguely remember some graphics utility that caused problems in Sonar that had to be manually turned off for vertain vst's to work. Energy XT loads JAMP but will not open the GUI, which was always my crude indicator that the GUI of an effect was the possible problem of a Sonar crash.

JAMP does have the plug available without the GUI that should work short of turning off the graphics ap. Maybe someone remembers what that was. Had to disable it from somewhere in the ancient past.

    Thanks Jim,

It was X-Ray. Looked at the help files for X2 and they have some methods for dismantling the ap.

    Best,
