ha i know, having looked around i couldn't find a nice guitar in my budget - i don't like the sound of active pickups, and getting a decent 7 string with decent passive pups i was looking at £600+...so decided to keep my current Washburn (which is already tuned to C) and tune it down another half-step to B, in other words make it the bottom 6 strings of a 7 string, then buy a better 6 string and keep it at normal tuning...so use the Washburn for rhythm playing and the Ibby for lead. We'll see how it goes!

Sweet!! Kind of resembles a Schecter to me. I hope to one day pick up one of these. The whammy stability on those are hard to beat. One of the best designs out there in that regard. I wish I knew your ebay secrets. The stuff I like usually has tons of competition driving the price up.

my ebay secret...err, none? i got very lucky here. there's one for sale at guitar village, used, no hard case, reduced to £750 at the mo...but it is just luck. one tip is go for ones which are 'pick-up' only, but then use your own courier (i paid £11 for mine to be brought from newcastle to essex...) - need to make sure the seller is willing to parcel up though!
as for locking trems, what you wanna go for is a floyd rose original (not 'special' or 'licensed') or kahler or gotoh or if an Ibby an edge/lopro equipped one. not that the licensed ones can't be good but they are made of an inferior metal so MAY not be as good.
