New lost user

Hi everyone, I'm really new in music and it's my first production software. My problem is that I don't succeded to put an fx on my guitar by using the online documentation. I mean, I can play in clean and record it but that all, when I put a  audio fx, it do not change anything. So I'm asking for some help please =)

Thanks you in advance for the replies!

Are you inserting the FX directly on your recorded guitar track? What FX are you using? Have you tried adjusting the controls of the FX? The more info you can provide, the better the chances someone can help.

If you can hear what you're recorded when you play it back you're 90% of the way there.

There are 3 areas where you can add Fx to a track:

    • The Pro Channel
    • The Track Fx Bin
    • The Clip Fx bin
An individual Track can consist of just one clip or many clips, depending on how you recorded.
I would suggest, for now, right click the Track Fx bin and inserting whatever effect plug you want there

    Lyss,

The reference manual pdf is in your installation folder.  It covers about 2500 pages and was updated in December.  The online help would cover the new features starting in January.  The pdf is very helpful.  Go thru the tutorials to help you get up and running.

Hope this helps and welcome to the forum and Cakewalk.

To hear effects while recording enable input echo. Read more about this in tutorial #3.

    Hello Telechage,

I'm putting the fx on the guitar track (there is an "Fx" region at the right). To choose the fx I go in "PlugIns -> Audio FX -> FX chain -> Guitars and basses". But when I put the FX (the fx is on) the guitar's song doesn't change at all.
I was wondering if my input and output are good, my guitar is on the 2nd input of my audio interface so I selected "right Yamaha Steinberg usb..." and for my output I selected "Yamaha Steingerg output".
And yeah, I tried to delete the delay, add distorsion, lowering the gain etc but nothings happen.

    Thanks for the answer =)
