New metal song...

I just posted a new song on my soundclick page.  Its called the recokning.  I have three versions of it.  the first is my rough take, no mixing of bass gtr, then mixed si a slightly mixed version of it, the lates one (simply 'the reckoning) is mixed as best as i could, with bass gtr and i fiddled with the drums to try and make them sound more human.

please check them out as well as mny other songs and tell me what you think. id love to hear any tips.  i havent mixed anything in a while and i was only decent back when i did it often.  i think this new mix sounds better tyhan any older songs/mixes so far.

check them out and let me know  what you think.

thanks
Miguel

Sounds pretty good Miggi. A bit more oomph from the kick and bass would be welcome, but things are pretty clear overall, and seems well humanized. Often the double kicks and rapid rolls when done with midi are too machine gun sounding and sterile, where these sound played and dynamic. Well done.

I agree with Shad.  It must have been  time consuming getting this right, yet you could fool a lot of people with this.  It takes a good ear to get any kind of dynamics with so much going on, but you nailed it.  This could be a great foundation for something big.

    All the best,

    Hey, Miguel,

Very cool song with great playing and nice, punchy metal guitar tones!

I really like the changeup that kicks in at around 2:08.  The drums sound excellent, and I agree with the guys about maybe boosting the kick for a little bit more "thump".

    Cool stuff, nice work!

A little more punch on the kick would probably bring this home.

    Thanks for sharing.

As mentioned already, a bit more bite to the kick would rock.
I really like the tone and execution on the guitar(s).
This is just begging for a dark, growly vocal track. Do you have anything in mind?

my mind goes totally blank when it comes to vocals
i was thinking more power/old school metal vocals. i am more into that type of singing thanthe growling.
    thanks for listening!

i just uploaded the song with the boosted bass and kick.  it sounds fuller now. I also boosted the entire mix a bit and made it louder.
Let me know if it sounds better.
    thanks
