New song - Simetimes

Sometimes was inspired by the group "Coldplay". I make Reference to coldplay in the bridge, with the words "sometimes it gets so cold" the picture is of Self-Portrait of van Gogh. He never cut of his ear, just a part of it.

Sometimes

Oh no - I'm afraid I understand
Why van Gogh cut off his ear
So gray and everything seems bland
loss of heart - loss of need to care

Oh no there's nothing to believe in
All my dreams where all in vain
So deep is the emptiness within
Grown so blue - numb from all the pain

Sometimes it gets so dreary lost in this confusion
Sometimes It seems that all that’s good is just an Illusion
And when I'm thinking of it I'm in a daze
Sometimes I feel like I’ve been living in a maze

Oh no - I’m loosing all life’s meaning
It’s so hard to live on hope
So cold this uninspired feeling
In so deep - and without a rope

Sometimes It gets so dreary lost in this confusion
Sometimes It seems that all that’s good is just an Illusion
And when I'm thinking of it I'm in a daze
Sometimes I feel like I’ve been living in a maze

Sometimes it gets so cold
Sometimes it gets so cold

I've always liked your vocal tone...reminds me of an Al Stewart or Tommy Roe.

The is a well put together tune....but I'd really take a look at the hi-hat...its seems to bump into everything...just too buzy for me liking...

    nice work overall....

    Hi, groveendroad,

Like the song. The recording is very nice and the mix is good, too. The vocal works great--reminds me of some of the old "British Invasion" tunes from the early '60's.

At first, I really like the drum/hi-hat pattern. But by about half way through the song I'm wanting to hear something else.

Also, I'm not completely convinced by the chorus/bridge part of the song. In my opinion, it needs to go someplace more distinct from the verse part, harmonically.

This song, to me, is about 2 minutes too long. It seems to have said everything it has to say by the 3 minute mark. That's a good thing for a pop song. To drag this song out to 5 minutes is stretching it a bit, in my opinion.

But I think you have a good song here and a good performance. My opinions are strictly subjective and should not be taken as negative remarks. There's lots of good stuff going on in your song.

    Best regards,
    Bill

Your piano and your vocals are nice and clear. I agree that the hi=hat made me divide my attention. I can't make it fit and I keep trying. Your vox is very interesting on this but usually is. You have a nice song and the comments that have been made pretty well ring with me. A little long but I don't seem to have time to finish a hamburger. I have to change that. A few changes and this will be hot!

Very cool, always dig your vocals man. Mix might be a touch trebly but I have no major nits.

I've been to a lot of museums all around the world. Ist seems like the Lourve in Paris has a room that is all Van Gogh - it was fascinating - they had his paintings set up showing him age - as he went mad - he was crazy as a loon - brilliant at the same time. I spent half a day in that room looking at his paintings - unbelieveable stuff.

OK - now let me take a listen to your tune.

Ohh, I like this - interesting vox you have - I think I love them. You're a bit of a throwback to the Hollies - that's who you remind me of.

    I think you're talented - I enjoyed this.

Terry, them lyrics... hope they are not about you man.

Somehow it does not feel right to say "great song" when the lyrics are so darn depressing.

    Cheers

The words about Van Gogh started out as tounge and cheek, if I understand a insane person wouldn't that make me insane. The song is called "Sometime" not "All the times".
So, yes, the song could be about me, I sometimes get depressed, don't we All. I love the Blues for that reason.
