IMHO, I guess some drummers have a better perspective of the song structure.... amazing how the style and general flow can dramatically alter the feel of the song (for good or worse)

Steel guitarists are the smartest. Not only do you have to operate both hands and feet and have an incredible ear for intonation but you also have to have the skills of an aircraft mechanic to keep the instrument operating as it should.

Apart from cowbellists
I was at a garage sale last week, a drummer walks up with drumsticks in one hand and a really old beaten up cowbell in the other hand. I said, are you selling those really cool drumsticks? {Drummer abruptly says} NO, no way, here... take the cowbell instead, please, you can have the cowbell, its yours. So I respectfully offered $2 {but the drummer abruptly says}... NO, I don't want your money, just take the freaking dang cowbell. Okay, okay then {ahem}... may I ask why you seem so desperate to get rid of this old antique cowbell? Drummer very frustratingly and most vehemently repeats over and over.... ||: because more cowbell is never enough, its never, ever gonna be enough :|| rpt indefinitely  {oh boi}
