New synth instrumental tune - Layering Air

Hi All,

Inspired to actually do something with my recent purchase of the AIR Complete bundle (courtesy of the Deals forum) I decided to try my hand at a tune using nothing but AIR synths and FX.   And with the exception of the Quad Curve EQ for mostly cuts, everything is from the AIR bundle.

This one is fairly simple with mostly "four on the floor" kick and octave synth bass lines.   And the occasional 5 or 6 on the floor where needed.  Oh, and just one measure of 13/8.   Anyway... it's an all synth tune with no "real" instruments or emulations and a fairly straightforward melody (layered Hybrid, Vacuum and Loom).   Drums/percussion consist of Strike, Structure and Transfuser, XPAND is on bass, Rise does its thing, and Loom is taking solo duties during the second half.

Nice groove to this one. Cool change-ups at mid point. Enjoyed the wails and the moans.

I heard (I think) the Riser, which I think is a really cool ear candy add to songs. It's pretty deep in what it can do.

I liked your prog synth pop approach! Cool changes, really enjoyed the rhythmic break around 2:00

The "whipping" filters panned hard are a treat.

    Nice job!

    Hi Steve,

I really enjoyed this. Very synth pop, but you still manage to get some of your prog stuff in into the mix. Quite Vangelis actually, if you don't mind me saying so

    cheers

Thanks, Tom!    Yeah, the Riser is pretty cool though I'm just getting to know it.  I hadn't thought prog-pop before, but maybe it's a thing...     Oh, and the humpbacks were getting muscle cramps so I figured a little electric stim would do them good.

Thanks, Andy!   Looks like prog-pop it is.   And BTW, yes, I do mind very much (not) saying it's quite Vangelis (not) since that's a bad thing (not).

Very cool Steve - some great sounds going on there. The drop section with the wailing is brilliant - great tension.

Thanks, Daryl!  The AIR bundle is a nice package, different than NI stuff.   And Loom is so cool it deserved a moment in the spotlight.
