New tasty Breverb info!

I've been in contact with Thomas from 'overloud' technologies (who make Breverb), and he told me that the cakewalk edition has the original 4 algorithms in it which emulate the lexicon 480L, but the full version has three new added algorithms emulating the TC Electronic 'TC 6000 reverb'.
So there it is, plain and simple.

I did download Breverb a couple of weeks ago when Sonar X2 was announced to try out Breverb, but i wasn't exactly 'over-the-moon with joy about it (me being a Reverb fan and all), but actually, i can't say that i really put it through it's paces either, so maybe i'll go do that now, but i probably will have to recant my original position about Breverb, especially after watching the Sonar 'Webinar' the other day, it sounded pretty good coming off the back of those strings, so i'll go have another play now and get back to you, just for anyone who is interested.

By the way, i have never owned any version of a Cakewalk DAW, but i am 'very' interested in SonarX2, it looks pretty damn good from where i'm standing; with the new tasty extras and the refinements to the user interface plus all the included pro-channel stuff and the new guitar-amp sim, well, it seems like a no-brainer to me. So unless Steinberg pull one hell of a rabbit out of the hat with the upcoming Cubase 7, it looks like i am about to become a proud new owner of my first Cakewalk top-of-the-line DAW...

I am quite happy with the DAW i'm using at the moment and it has been a great little workhorse which has never let me down, but Sonar X2 just looks to good to resist so i may just have to jump ship and come to Cakewalk island hehehe

Aye! But keep an eye out fer land sharks, mate.

Are CW selling an 'upgrade to full version'?  I can't spot it anywhere.
Edit: I see on the Overloud web site that it's $97 (£62 incl VAT) to upgrade from Breverb to Breverb 2.

Also would like to know if there will be a Pro Channel module for the full version of Breverb, or is it just for the Sonar version.

Having been a Sonar user since stiffy disks were the in-thing, and being forced to use other DAWs sometimes, I think you'll like X1 and 2 very very much. Might be a little buggier than certain other Pro.. DAWs, but FAR more user friendly AND a lot more bang for less bucks.

The Producer version of BREVERB has a ProChannel version you can use. You can see it in the main image on the Cakewalk Facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/CakewalkInc Of course we will have full info and screen shots at launch on www.cakewalk.com

Also would like to know if there will be a Pro Channel module for the full version of Breverb, or is it just for the Sonar version.

    From Overloud:
" It is just for the Sonar version. The full version of BREVERB 2 has too many parameters to fit into the small space of a Pro Channel"

I'm confused now about Breverb. There's a X2 Producer version, and the Breverb 2 version, does the Producer version require an upgrade at additional cost ?? But the Breverb 2 doesn't work in Pro Channel ?? Does the Producer version work as is ?? Does the Producer version emulate the Lexicon, but not the TC Electronics ??

    Djwayne,

from what I can gather from scattered threads:

Producer version to "standard" Breverb 2 is a paid upgrade, it seems.  Since it is not out (the Prod version) there doesn't seem to be a list of upgrade prices.

Breverb 2 has too many knobs to work in PC, tho you could stick it in anywhere w/ the new fx bin chains.

The PC version has the 4 models of the big lexicon, while Breverb 2 has the new TC algorithms.

Thanks, so we don't know what the upgrade price will be yet...?? But there is definitely an upgrade for those who want it......?? And it's Lexicon emulations are usable for those that don't want the upgrade ??

if your looking for a deal on sonar I would look for it at bh photo I saw studio there for $139 and of course the upgrade to x2 is free and you can also upgrade to producer later on and save yourself about $60 doing it that way.

Anyone have any opinion as to how Breverb's 480L emulation compares to the UAD "genuine" 480L algos?

BREVERB 2 Full version will be coming to the Cakewalk Store very soon. It will be an upgrade from the BREVERB SONAR.

Make sure you understand exactly which plugins are include in the ProChannel in SONAR Producer as by far most are optional extras that you need to pay for on top of the X2 purchase price for Producer.
