New to Midi, not new to recording

I have an issue with my new setup that I can't seem to work out on my own.  Its probably something simple, but due to my lack of MIDI knowledge, it evades me.
I'm running Sonar 8 Producer, M-audio 2496 card, and an M-audio Axiom 49.   
When utilizing Dimension pro 1.5, it plays beautifully except that on the Axiom keyboard the mapping has skipped  the same key on every octave.  I can play all the notes required so none of them are missing, but having too skip that same white key on every octave makes things difficult.
 
Could someone tell me what I am missing?
