New to Sonar and having issues with installation and sound

Hello. I am new to Sonar X1 Studio and thinking I bit off more than I can chew.. Downloaded over the net and dont understand one of the folders installation document at all..this is what it says This zip file contains both the 1.5 version and the 2.0 version of the Xenos Soundworks Expansion Pack Demos . To install in Z3TA+ 1.5: Click the "Bank" button at the bottom right corner of the GUI, then select "Load Bank File (.fxb). In the window that pops up, find "Xenos Soundworks Bank Demos - 1.5 version.fxb" in your directory (it will be wherever you unzip the file to), then open it. The sounds should now be loaded into Z3TA+. To install in Z3TA+ 2: Right-click on the "Xenos Soundworks Bank Demos - 2.0 version.zip" folder and select "Extract All..". When asked where you want to extract the files, select "C:\Cakewalk Content\Z3TA+ 2\Programs" as your destination. Afterwards, the sounds should show right up in the Z3TA+ 2 browser :). I dont understand how to this at all..Whats a GUI to begin with? Also was able to import an MP3 into a project but sounds terrible tinny. are there only7 certain sound cards that are compatible with Sonar X1? I have a Toshiba laptop with Realtek high definition audio...worked fine with Audacity which is what I have been using? Any help with these issues would be most appreciated...Thank you, Chris

    GUI is graphical user interface.

An onboard soudcard (relteck etc.) is not really useful for soundwork.  SONAR is moving audio, midi and video and such a card is not good for low latency - the time it takes for your computer to say speak and the card to spit the word out.  SONAR works pretty well with just about any card that is designed to work w/ music, not computer beeps and whizzes or game sounds.

The expansion pack, as I recall, should be unzipped wherever you put it and then loaded into Z3TA via the command in the synth itself.  I don't have Zeta right in front of me, but there is file handling where you can load Z3TA programs or banks of programs.  Of course, you should use the load banks command.

Thanks, I figured out the sound issues in the troubleshooting section of the help menu, and configured the settings the sound works but seem to be missing presets, or something as some of the effects don't work, says no presets for selected application, or wrong preset for application..going to be a long and arduous journey me thinks ;) thanks for your response :)
