New to X1

Hi, I have just started to try and use X1 Essentials to play around with Midi files (previously used Sonar Le (4.01) Firstly I normally play sound through a creative X-Fi external Usb soundcard. but Essentials does not like it, I have tried all driver options, mme asio etc to no avail. When playing back through the onboard card having inserted TTS1 the files sound awful, hollow and scratchy. Also cannot find standard Gs wavetable. Computer is running Win7 64 bit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

First check that SB and Sonar are using the same sample rate. SB might default to 48 kHz whereas Sonar perhaps starts with 44,1 kHz.

You are sure you have installed the 64 bit version? (You can run the 32 bit version as well, though.)

What are your PC specs? Have you tried different buffer sizes/ ASIO latency settings?

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

I suggest you get a recommended audio sound card. If you had one, you would not run into driver issues, as sound blaster and onboard cards do not have good drivers written for them. SB cards are for gaming and onboard cards are good for nothing.

These are just facts, not my opinion!
