New track, Shopping (I added a better version)

Hi. This is my latest tune. I used Sem V and Analog Player among other synths, although I usually have trouble finding good sounds from them. It might be because I used headphones for listening. For some reason I like the sounds from them more then the sound I get from my speakers. I welcome comments.

    I liked this immediately!

The synth choices are very well chosen. The bass, for my taste, could have a little more activity, something more than just the three note figure over and over. Get your bass finger chops out and improvise it up!

The drums seem very distant in the first half of the tune, maybe bring up snare a lot, kick a little, and hi-hat a little.

    cool tune!

Thank you Tom. I will try to fix the drums and bass. I used for drums in the verse part just one sample and in the chorus I added SI drum synth.

The first 11 seconds of this caught me immediately -- moody and funky.  What a great opening to a vocal song that would be.  The synth part after that ruined that mood for me -- did not like that sound.  That said, after that, you had some really interesting sections and rhythms going -- as usual with your material.  And as usual, I again wonder why you don't find someone to collaborate with -- geez, you're in Finland right? -- must be lots of synth based songwriters there? -- someone to put down some vocals over your commercial sounding tracks.  !!

Thank you Allan for the nice words. I know nobody who could sing my stuff and my current material is not best suited to be sung imo. Here is anyway the hopefully fixed version of this tune.
I modified the verse somewhat and mixed and added drums etc.

I listen the other day but for some reason the comment I made seems to have failed to stick.  This has your sound all over it Antti, this version sounds a little more complete than the one I heard earlier, thanks for sharing.

Pleasant tune, though I would echo some of Tom's comments.

Thank you Phil. I can try better the mix but the bass pattern is difficult to me. I used Cakewalk's zeta+ for the bass in the chorus.

Thank you Wookie. Imo the verse is the weakest link in this case although usually my choruses are the weakest link imo. When i improved the verse a bit i noticed that it became less compatible with the chorus imo. I have also the problem that when i listen to my stuff enough times i really don't want to keep fixing the same tune for a long time.

I think this is the best I've heard from you Antti, somehow it's more powerful and interesting. Excellent. Terrible title though..'Shopping'...?

Thank you James. I have problems coming up with good tune titles. This one came to be the title for some odd reason which i do not know but the Petshop boys have same named title in one of their hits.

Just to echo some of the comments above - good moving groove with a nice synth arrangement.  I also hear improvements overall in both songwriting and mixing over the last few tunes.   I think your work is paying off.

Pretty cool. I can hear this at the market as I'm fighting through hordes of shoppers trying to get to the bacon! lol!

I think the drums could have a bigger sound. I think I'm hearing a techno tom? It should come through better.

    Well done!
