    Thanks for the re-link Trimph.

    Bub:

    Fun tune.   I especially enjoyed your little segue at 00:52 using 2 bars from the Munster theme.  Creative.

    I did have a bit of difficulty hearing some of the vocals (palm mute guitar was in the same freq domain), maybe move them to the front a db or so, or a little L/R spread for the git and the vox, but other than that, it had a nice head-bobbing beat.

    Thanks for sharing.

    I can't tell if Bapu was mentioned, but if he wasn't you have his permission to use it on the remix.

    But if Bapu's name was mentioned then you'll be hearing from his lawyers.

    Good job Bub.

    You were right about the vocals. I didn't raise them but I rolled off the low end so they weren't so muddy and I think that fixed it. I posted a new MP3 with the fix.

    @Trimph1: Thanks!

    @Mike: Thanks!

    @Bapu: I was gonna use your name but I couldn't get Bapu to rhyme with anything. :)

    Much improved and understandable.

    BTW, you need to pass on the details how you got that Squier to sound so good with the stock plugs.  I'd like to replicate that sound with mine.

    Nice Job

    BTW, you need to pass on the details how you got that Squier to sound so good with the stock plugs.  I'd like to replicate that sound with mine.
    The thing that had the biggest effect on the overall sound, believe it or not, was using a pick rather than my fingers. Using a thin one as apposed to a thick one completely changed the sound again. Distance from the pickups on the bass made a big difference too. The middle pickups are staggered and I picked right over the upper one. They are the stock pickups also and put out no noise. I duplicated the bass track and applied different effects to each and mixed them together on a bus.

    This is Bass - 1. It has GRP4 on it in the FX bin. I used 'chorus bass' preset and added the 'split mix' component to it even though it's a mono input and reversed the phase. It has a nice effect. I used it on the rhythm guitars too. They are two separately recorded tracks run in to the split mix using stereo input mode and panned hard left/right, but you can use it on a mono signal too. I also enabled 'gloss' on the PC EQ.

    This is Bass - 2. Nothing special here. I just cloned the bass track and applied some different compression and lowered the volume. I didn't change the phase on this track.

    Bass Bus. I used the Channel Tool on this because the split mix component in GRP4 made the bass too wide. I couldn't get the effect I wanted if I changed the pan knobs on the split mix component so I tried the Channel Tool and it worked great. I also enabled 'gloss' on the PC EQ and enabled Tube Sat. I don't think I could have got this sound without X1 and the Pro Channel. It's got some great sounds coming out of it. I used very heavy compression on the bus also. I did this keeping in mind I wanted a wide dynamic range and didn't want to use heavy compression on the master bus, so I used a little heavier on a few individual tracks as needed. There's almost no compression on the master.

    I spent at least 2 days tweaking the bass line in this to get that sound. :)
