Got the German Gain, that's a nice one.

Good to see you've changed the way Jam Points are handled too.

Can you explain/elucidate how the Jam Points are now handled?

You no longer have to log in to the IK website to get a redemption code for your jam points. You now enter the dollar value of the jam points you want to use right on the order page and the code is generated there, saving you that extra step.

    Obi:
I bought Amplitube 3 as part of the recent group buy and just updated to 3.7
Dumb question, but I don't see the German Gain amp (or Jet City models)
Even though I own the product, do I still have to buy these from the Custom Shop (as if I were an Amplitube Free user)?
    Thanks

I'm not Obi...but yea...the claim that there are "new models in the update" is to be viewed with a heavily jaundiced eye.  That just means there are new things you can buy IN ADDITION to this update if you so desire.  If I were in South Park I'd have to call shennanigans.  I'm not sure if companies like IK realize two things:  One, that customers are smart enough to see through this kind of horse**** and Two, that it irritates the hell out of them.  YMMV.

yoro: I thought by buying the entire Amplitube that I'd be saving $ instead of Amplitube Free and buying ala carte.....IK should have thrown in some of the new models with the update for free, in my opinion.

Also, I discovered after the fact (and this really irritated me) that the Fender models that come with the paid version of Amplitube are generally not the really desirable ones.......they have a Bassman model for example, but if you want the "Tweed" 59 version, you have to buy Fender Amplitube (which is what I did)

Do I get this correctly - if one doesn't intend to buy those new amp, the update isn't necessary, right? It just adds those new models which can be demo'ed and unlocked (?).

In my case I had to install the update to get the new models.

Pretty much what I thought. Everything you access in the custom shop actually lives on your computer. The CS is merely a way to unlock it, be it for demo or when you buy it. Hence why you don't really need to download anything, just unlock the models you want - and those new models obviously weren't built in the previous version.

Obi: I truly am not a whiner and love your products, but what's happening here is that the users who paid nothing for Amplitube Free are periodically getting free amps while users like me who paid for the entire program get nothing because what's being offered is already in my arsenal. This has occurred with the Vox amp above and the Hendrix Showman amp....I think the fair thing to do is give users who paid for the whole program (like me) a free amp that is not on my list. I'm sure other users would agree.

    +1

I've purchased everything in the AmpliTube line since version 2, including Ampeg SVX, Metal, Hendrix, Fender and AT 3. Some complementary credits wouldn't be out of line.
