New vocal and drum effects strips in 8.5

Just wanted to know from those with high end plugs such as waves and UAD- do these compare? Have been reading lots of positive comments on these plugs.

Yes, they compare. Kind of an LA2A, Fairchild, tub saturation kind of sound. Very pleasing. Good for some things but I would not want it on everything.

    Gear: A bunch of stuff.

They're both very cool, very simple to use, and sound great.  Of the two, I definitely like the PX64 best because the VX64 overlaps quite a bit with the features in my preferred channel strips (WaveArts TrackPlug 5 and Waves RenChannel), but it also has some features that the others don't.  The PX64 was obviously designed primarily for live-tracked drums, but I've been playing around with it on my sampled drums and have been getting some very cool results.  I can see applications for each on other instruments as well (e.g., bass, guitar).
