NewARP (electro)

Hi,

Hope you like it. Actually I don't know what to call the genre but I think it will be Electro ... something?

Definitely hear the JMJ influences sounds well mixed here, I would be tempted not to mix the drums quite as wide as you have them but that is a personal taste thing.  What toys are you using to create?

All in all nice sounding piece, thanks for sharing.

    Thx for your insights
I never thought of the drums as wide. They are panned (maby a bit too much..?) but not widen in any other way.

    The Toydepartement:
Sonar X3e, controlled by an Alphatrack
    Fantom X6, ARP patterns
    V-Synth, contoller and keyboard
NI Monark a few of those
    NI Absynth, pads
    Camel Audio Alchemy, various soundFX
    Izotope Ozone5

Soundcard: E-MU 1820. I just love the flexible routing.
A bunch of different headphones. (they all have their own character)

I think thats about it for that tune ;)

Greetings! I'm an electronic music producer myself, and I gotta say I'm diggin' the arp sound. I just got on the Monark bandwagon and it's been blowing my mind. SO MUCH CHARACTER!!! :D

I have to echo the sentiments Wookiee posted about the drums being hard-panned(ish). It's nice to have the drums occupying plenty of space in the stereo field, but too much can be distracting.

Also, I found the drum sounds a bit generic and soft. Sounds like General MIDI drum sounds, which are a few decades out of date at this point. :P Given the recent recontextualization of synth-based music, it creates a strange juxtaposition to my ears.

Definitely digging the ambient feel, and the mix is on point. Nice track mate!

    Check out my music! :]

    WOW, Mr fif4..

I'm truly astounded! Your ears does not deceive you. The drums (hate to admit that but..) they are outdated GM... as a matter of fact it's TTS-1 std kit! In the light of the plethora of choices that are available at my disposal I can't really say why I fell for that sound?
Well, to my defence: I was trying to mimic the sound of the JMJ, Vangelis era. Not entirely successful obviously ;)

Too me it defenetly sound like a remix is needed.

    Thx
I really do appreciate your constructive criticism.

OT: If you are into JMJ and the likes take a look at KEBU and get inspired.
