Newbie Needs Help with Old Tapes

Hi,
I am pretty new to Sonar Platinum. Pretty amazing what I have found so far.

Anyway....I have several 4-Track cassette tapes that I recorded back in the late 80's. The tape player died several years ago.
All the tapes were recorded at a high speed and when I play them back on other tape machines they are at half speed.

If I transfer my recordings to Sonar Platinum will I be able to play them at their previously recorded speed?
If yes.....how do I go about doing this?
Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Donny

You could try time stretching. Personally I would use Soundforge for that. I have Soundforge.  Also Reaper may be a better fit for that. I don't have Reaper.

I think speeding them up in Sonar should work fine. You can SHIFT+CTRL+drag the edge of the clip to half size, that should effectively double the speed. Do "bounce to clip" afterwards for best sound quality.

Could they be recorded at 44.1 and played back at 88.2?
