Newbie Question...

I am a complete newbie to real DAWs coming from Audacity.  Easy start, no horsepower.  Well Sonar has broken my skull open but I'm having fun....

I am trying to generate a click track to work from.  I slayed the beast that was setting up my Korg to the comp.  I defeated recording audio and midi to and from the machine.

But this "generating a click" is brutal.  I can get the metronome to play during the session but that does me no good if I want to export a wave file to a buddy so he can work off the exact same click I am.  I tried using the step sequencer to make a repetitive beat but I could not find an instrument that produced a click (I thought a drum set would have something like that but not that I could find).

Am I way in over my head?

Please advise,

    Check out this thread: http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?&m=2295910&high=metronome&mpage=1

There is no direct way to record (or export) the metronome, but there are plenty of workarounds. The easiest is probably a MIDI groove clip triggering a TTS-1, but lots more suggestions in the linked thread.
