Newbie help needed - TTS-1 instruments volume problem

Okay I'm really new at using Sonar 7 (just loaded the 7.1 patch).  I am having a problem whenever I try to use the TTS-1 instruments.  I've been adding a new track by inserting from a template (is this correct?), Selecting instruments and then choosing one of the many instruments listed.  No matter which one I choose I can hardly hear the sounds when I key my keyboard.   If I add a Synth such as drums the volume is quite loud.

Any idea what the problem might be?

Running: Windows 7 64 bit, Cakewalk UA-1G USB audio interface, AXiom 25 MIDI keyboard.

Thanks in advance for any help!

add TTS-1 by using the INSERT>SOFTSYNTH>TTS-1 instead.  or use the SYNTH RACK.

I don't understand the "template" deal, others have asked about it before and it's confusing to me (I don't have SHS7, so I don't know directly what the "template" for softsynths really is).

Thanks for the info but now I'm really lost.

I did what you said INSERT>SOFTSYNTH>TTS.  It created a folder on one of my tracks that is labeled Cakewalk TTS-1 15 and below that it shows another track (looks like it is connected to the folder)  that shows the MIDI icon.  All it plays is piano.  How can I select an instrument or something such as Choir Aahs?

you have to change the properties on the MIDI track, NOT on TTS-1.  if you change them on TTS-1 then they'll just get changed back when you hit play because the MIDI TRACK PROPERTIES override the face of TTS-1.

you should work thru the tutorials in the help files.  they explain exactly how to use MIDI and softsyths and this is all covered there.  open the help files and click on the GETTING STARTED link for the tutorials.
