Newbie needs help (VS-20, Zoom R24)...

Hi Guys,

I am pretty new to Sonar Studio. Last year I bought Roland/Cakewalk V-Studio 20 with the Guitar Tracks program. Since I thought I needed a little more functions I later bought Sonar Studio 8.5 (now upgraded to 8.5.3). I just recently got around to installing it. It is installed on a fresh 64bit win7 and runs fine as such. So far, so good.

Now, I want to use the VS-20 as DAW controller in 8.5.3, but I simply cannot get it to work. I can use it as audio interface, though - and it works pretty well as DAW controller in Guitar Tracks, but I can't get any Controller function... Does anyone have an idea, what could be wrong?

Anyway, the band recently invested in a Zoom R24, which I alternatively would like to use as recording interface and/or controller. The R24 comes with a suitable driver and a Sonar plug-in which I have installed. Nevertheless, when I try to activate the Zoom in 8.5.3, the program and Win7 crashes (blue screen!). Some incomprehensible error message, but something looking like an audio driver for the Zoom is listed. I guess this is more a question for the Zoom forum, but I was wondering if any of you have managed to get the R24 to work with Sonar Studio 8.5.3 (64bit)?

Best regards,

>V<
