Newbie to Dimension

Why do all the samples sound like they are washed in reverb. I'm a newbie and I hope they were not sampled this way.

I must be missing a big something, how do I make the piano's / basses dry?

Thank you.

You just turn off the effects (insert and/or master). Most of the pianos and bass in the factory patches are dry though, so are you sure you don't have a master reverb going on in your setup?

I have tried to disable everything. All effects look disabled on the front panel. It sounds like I'm just getting the heavy wash of reverb and no dry signal at all.

    I'll keep looking, thank you.

Some soundcards have a built in effects section. If you can't find the reason look for you soundcards mixer, then effects, and disable all.

It's a straight shot from the midi board to the Dim, no effects. Dim is on it's own channel, no effects. I'll keep trying.

An annoying thing cropped up. Every time I load a sample or do anything with Dim, I get a notepad message with this on it.

That means that the plugin wasn't correctly registered when the update was applied. Possibly, because it was in use.
I suggest you to apply the 1.2 update again.

Also, if you are using the VST version, make sure that you point the 1.2 updater to the correct vstPlugins folder. It is very common to have more than one, and leave one version without update.
