By the way, from the reading of the OP, it only states they are NOMINATED for the TEC award, and not that they have won it (which I hope they do!)
 
So I don't see how this has any relevance on when Sonar 9 (or whatever) gets released or not. 

I don't see Roland or Cakewalk on the list of AES exhibitors and Cakewalk always does AES so I'm going with the new release cycle moving to January NAMM time.  They can have a little corner of the Roland jungle gym space.

lol - well believe what you like.  I just upgraded for $79 download from S8PE to S8.5PE myself a few days ago.  I'm not the only one that's done that, regardless that you think it's "smart" or not.  personally I think it's smart because there's not likely going to be another free version so this is the most stable that 8.5 is going to get.  plus, I got it cheaper than you did if you bought it when 8.5 first came out.  so who's the smart one here?
 

as did I this week up from SHS7XL to S8.5 Studio. Why not PE? you may ask. Just don't really need all the extra bells&&whistles atm. Used that extra $50 to take momma to the catfish joint!!! (bribe) These guys know what they're doing to generate income. Nothing more really to be said. Devs and creatives don't run marketing. ;-p otherwise, it'd all be free, don'tcha know. Personally I expect to see another reduction on upgrade (e.g. MC && SHS7 a few days back) price for PE in the coming months. I might spend a few extra then to get PE... provided it's less than $50. :-) Again, otherwise... momma thinks I should be content for a while... @^@
