Next trivial issue - logged under CWBRN-22621

As logged in problem reporter:

Preferences -> Sync And Caching
Observe the textbox next to "Use ASIO Reported Latency".
This is is a READ ONLY textbox that never gets used for data entry purposes. Therefore it should be a label (it cannot be "by design" therefore a bug).
For bonus points please add up the manual offset + reported latency and show the total as a label (so people are clear about the functionality).

Thanks.

Although I applaud your efforts, I think this is just nitpicking. But yes, even I was a little confused with this area of the Preferences.

Board member #1: "Are there any bugs that need to be squashed before the next update? Forum members seem upset and cranky. We toss 'em bones, but they still are hungry for more."

Board member #2: "How about take lanes or severe latency issues?"

Board member #3: "I got one! This was submitted recently. It's CWBRN-22621. It has something to do with a box and a label. The user reported severe frustration and headaches due to confusion in regards to a box that contains unchangeable numbers."

Board member #1: "What?!?"

Board member #3: "Yeah, it's all right here in the report!"

Board member #1: "Give me that thing!" [Reads report.] "Damn! This is serious. Board Member #2, get a hold of Washington and tell them to send me their top-tier computer programmers. Have them report to my office first thing Monday morning!"

Board member #2: "Yes sir!"

Board member #1: "Change of plans--budget dollars will need to be cut in order to reduce our dependency on our own programmers to take care of those latency thingies and...what did you say...take lanes?  Focus all efforts on that issue you just brought up. The person who submitted it seems like a nice fellow and if he's on the cusp of going to that crazy Cockos software, perhaps we can reel him back in again; keep him with Cakewalk! We'll get it taken care of, but other fixes will need to wait. We most definitely can fix this issue by the next release, or the one after, or maybe the one after...X6?  OK, so motion to accept this decision? All those who are for?"

[All members of the board, unanimous in their decision]: "Aye!"

Board member #1: "All those opposed?"

[Crickets...]

Cheers Tony got you... :)

What I would say is a bug is a bug. It's as simple as that, I make no judgements, as stated in the subject the issue is obviously trivial. This thread is just for the record. I am not the part of Cakewalk's triage process, make of it what you will :)

My personal opinion (not that it matters), definitely fix other stuff first, it however probably takes a developer the same amount of time to fix this issue as to read and understand it (well 15 mins max + 45 mins for coffee).

Thanks..

The board has decided that read only textboxes as "by design" in Sonar so they have made this into a feature request.

Trivial issue anyway so I don't think many people are losing sleep over this...

Alex, Cakewalk should put you on the beta testing team.

Seriously, you'd be ideal.
