Next webinar suggestions...

How about a thread about suggestions for the next webinar ??

I'll start it off by suggesting a more in depth discussion of the Pro Channel Modules. Lets see them all in action, showing what they can do.

As soon as I saw the title of this post I instantly thought of ProChannel, seeing as I just added some of the other modules to my arsenal...

I chose the Pro Channel topic because you don't really know how powerful it is until you've used it. It's been out for quite a while yet I just recently got it. It's a fantastic tool for any studio, home or pro, as it can add lots of punch to a recording. Plus there's still lots of details about it that I'd like to learn.

So ya Pro Channel would be a good topic for a webinar.

Well thank you for putting them together...I find the webinars to be extremely informative and helpful which in turns increases my understanding of Sonar...there's many facets to Sonar and much detail, even the little things become important. The webinars definitely helped me to make the decision to get Producer for the Pro Channel, and I have no regrets about that at all. I can even make mediocre sounding recordings sound great !! So the more I learn about Pro Channel, the happier I am.

+1 to pro channel ..particularly since i just went expanded and added the gate and compressor.. so somewhat struggling with channel compressor Vs bus compressor and the differences therein.

    ProChannel webinar would be cool

Half a dozen scenarios and using the PC modules to deal with them. Also, the various ways to open/close/reorder/collapse all at once/where not to double click etc in one video would be handy as a tutorial and as a refresher video.

Edit: Last 10 minutes to show a sneak peak of "X2"

And just to toss my two cents in I was kind of hoping for some MIDI input stuff but this is actually a good idea. If you guys really elaborated on what can be done solely with the PC in the mix and then perhaps some basic mastering with PC that would be pretty awesome. My current kick is trying to keep everything I do within PC so I can max that bugger out and then, and only then, start screwing around with other stuff. If I don't need to bury myself in other plugs then I am all for that. Cheers.

Yep a good class in mastering with the Pro Channel modules would be excellent.

But even still just a good explanation of all the knobs and buttons would be good too. Lots of A/B tests would also be a winner.

In the second webinar they did, they touched breifly on the EQ and Concrete Limiter... a little more on that and some info on the Limiting Amplifier would be welcome. A good lesson in settings on the compressors would also be nice.

Yes, if we can get everyone up to snuff on mixing and mastering, there'd be some great sounding recordings coming out of the Sonar camp.

Yes... some tips on mastering, with the PC tools, would be great. And seeing as some of us cannot afford proper mastering equipment and room treatment, some pointers on how we can use the various analyser plug-ins to help us iron out any issues that we cannot hear with our "budget" equipment (and even headphones) would be fantastic.

Actually, I would like to see a LOOONG video about Matrix View and the Loop Construction View. That would go hand in hand. One thing is to see it being used and be told what it's for in the other tutorials - which is great BTW - but a in serious depth webinar about these two would be really cool.

Oh, and +1 for the Pro Channel idea! With all modules!

    How about:

Only use stuff available in expanded version: instruments, samples, presets, templates...

demonstrate saving presets and instrument programs
... where are they located, how best to name,....
and how these can be included in a bundle file

provide a bundle file of the demonstration project(s) that includes everything:
      project, presets, samples,...

    =========
    provide some insight, and workarounds
for those having trouble with using the downloadable expanded PC presets
for those having trouble with simple instrument tracks

    I like this topic...a lot.

I thought the last webinar had quite a bit of information on using PC Modules. Don't really see a need for, say, a demo on the PC EQ. I may not know how to EQ  but a demo isn't what I need there. Mostly I think the PC modules are pretty self explanatory.

Maybe even a short webinar on music scoring with lyrics printed with Sonar ??

BUT... what ever subject is chosen, making it in depth, about just one, or perhaps two topics, would be better than covering many things. The only reason I say that, is I have watched some of the supplied video tutorials, by Craig Anderton for example, and, as great as they are, they go too fast for me. Admittedly, I can view them at any time and re-wind as many times as I need, but with so many topics covered it is sometimes difficult finding what I need.

just my two pence, again :^)

@synkrotron... Apparently if you load the Anderton vids into something OTHER than media player (like quicktime or something) it will give you chapters so you can jump to what you want to watch. I had that complaint as well. Still haven't had a chance to try it out though as I don't have any other video programs installed.
