Most certainly brightened my day. Lovely song sung by a lovely young lady. Pretty nice harmonizing and mixing chops too.

Kudos to Lizzie on the song and her vocals...loved it! I liked the desk she was working on and when the camera panned to show the pretty scenery outside her window, it reminded me of how much I miss the UK

John, what I probably meant was that she's not using a midi keyboard to trigger softsynths, etc... I know her drums are SD3, so she probably programmed it on the PRV, or she used loops. Afaik, her audio interface does not have midi i/o.......

Afaik, her audio interface does not have midi i/o....... If you take a look at the first track it is MIDI loops. She could have used the Step Sequencer to program the drums or she could have simply dragged a MIDI loop in. It really doesn't matter as long as she is happy with the results. Plus she may have a MIDI keyboard out of camera range that uses USB. Its unlikely she has no MIDI gear if she did start with Cakewalk version 1. We guys tend to show off everything we have whenever possible where women tend to avoid the look of clutter in similar situations. On the other hand she may in fact have absolutely no MIDI gear what so ever and never did. LOL

Hmm... no MIDI keyboard? Are we sure? What is hiding under the monitor stand? I mean what is under the cloth laying there? A lot of people put something on a keyboard if not used often to prevent gathering dust. Just an idea....

Hi Guys, here are some more specs of our Lizzie's set up. Her MIDI keyboard is a basic 49 key controller possibly Miditech branding. It's over 10 years old and only has a 5 pin DIN MIDI out. This is connected via the MIDI input of the UA-4FX (yes it does have a built in MIDI interface). Her keyboard resides below the monitor under a black and white pattered cloth. More specs to follow...

I think wanting to know that info shows that someone's missing the point of the video. I'd also be amazed if she could answer half of those technical questions. In her case, its fairly obvious that the gear has very little to do with the quality of the final product. Real talent will always find a way to shine through. Most high-end gear is geared towards making average or mediocre performances sound exceptional. In most cases, exceptional performances will still sound exceptional regardless of how they're recorded. -e.B

I'm curious to know what her computer specs are to show that you don't really need a power house computer to get great results with Sonar X1. It looks like she has a simple computer set up and I'm curious to know and how it compares to mine. My guess is that she knows a lot more about computers than you're giving her credit for. After all she is running X1 Producer, that's hardly a kiddie toy. She's been working with Cakewalk for a long time. Pro's always make it look easy.

Thanks for that info !! It proves that you don't need to spend a zillion dollars on a computer to get great results. A nice humble home studio WILL do the job nicely. My computer is off the shelf Dell also with a couple of upgrades but still fairly humble too. Everything is working great with my Dell. She's inspiring me to clean up my studio !! I've got junk all over the place, it must be nice having a nice simple set up like hers, it looks like a very pleasant place to work on music.
